Welcometo Kingstone & Thruxton Primary School

Welcome to Kingstone and Thruxton Primary School!

Welcome to our school website - I am very proud to be able to share it with you. I have the pleasure and a privilege of being Head of Kingstone and Thruxton Primary School.

Our school thrives on a culture where everyone is committed to making a real difference to the children in our care. The children are at the heart of every decision we make to ensure they have the very best possible start to their education journey, developing personal aspirations and a lifelong love of learning. We work in close partnership with our families and the wider community to ensure the success of our children.

We pride ourselves on being an inclusive school with a warm, family feel. The staff really get to know each pupil and work hard to meet their needs. We have high expectations for all children, and we value every one of them as a unique part of our community. Our commitment to truly knowing and understanding each child allows us to provide a loving and supportive environment where every individual can flourish – socially, emotionally, and academically.

We have created a curriculum that encourages children to be curious and independent learners; to learn collaboratively and support one other; to value diversity and difference; to celebrate and enjoy learning and to be responsible and good citizens. Our curriculum has been based around key knowledge and skills that are built upon as children move through school, preparing them for secondary school and beyond.

We are proud to be part of Kingstone Academy Trust. The children benefit greatly from the close links we have with Kingstone High School, including access to fantastic resources and the opportunity to work with older students, who are great role models and ambassadors for the High School.

I hope you enjoy finding out more about our school by browsing our website. Visits are encouraged and welcomed; I would be delighted to show you around our wonderful school. If you would like to book a visit, please do not hesitate to contact the School Office. I look forward to meeting you soon.

Arlan (Year 5)
On our residential trip I climbed higher up the tree that I thought I ever would – it was very high! My favourite part was camping in a pod with my friends.

Paige (Year 6)
Before the trip to the Isle of Wight, I had never been so far away from home! I tried so many new things and visited lots of amazing places. Osborne House was huge!

Marion – Lily (Year 5)
I joined Kingstone when I was in Year 3. I was chosen to be a Young hopeful and I got to help organize a Macmillan coffee morning. We raised over £300.

From singing with his friends at Birmingham Young Voices to learning to play the clarinet and swim, Theo has enjoyed a broad array of enriching activities. He has taken part in wonderful after-school programs, joined the Chronicle team, and developed his creativity.

The great atmosphere of encouragement and support is extended to us as parents and it feels that we are in a partnership with teaching staff to set Zion up to win emotionally, academically and physically.

My daughter enjoys going to school every day and even asks if she can go on the weekend. The staff at Kingstone are kind, friendly and very supportive. They are always willing to point you in the right direction.
