Pupil Premium
What is Pupil Premium?
The Pupil Premium is an amount of money allocated by the Government to schools for:
- Children of statutory school age from low income families who are known to be, or to have been in the last six years (Ever 6), eligible for free school meals (FSM)
- Children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months
- Children whose parents are currently working in the armed forces.
Pupil Premium is additional funding for schools to support them in raising the attainment of ‘disadvantaged’ (this is an Ofsted term for Pupil Premium children) pupils of all abilities and to diminish the difference between them and their peers.
